Furlough navigator is an online tool for BrightHR that helps you collect the data you need to claim Job Retention Scheme grants in one secure place online. Here’s how it works:

Your furlough navigator tool

  • Pick staff for furlough: Set an employee’s status to furlough with a click of a button. Use your online calendar to see who’s on furlough, who’s on holiday and who’s on sick leave.
  • Track time off: Let the furlough navigator tool record how long your staff are on furlough. Then use this data to work out how much to claim back for wages.
  • Access HR docs online: Get unlimited cloud storage space for your HR docs, including furlough letters. Keep docs safe, secure and easy to access for five years to meet government guidelines.

Advice on lockdown & homeworking

If you’re an employer in England, you’re now likely to be asking employees to stop working or work from home again after recent announcements.

Employers in Scotland and Wales are also under separate instructions requiring business closure and working from home.

People in England that cannot work from home—such as employees in the construction or manufacturing industry or where it is not reasonable for the employee to do their job from home —may still come into the workplace.

You can access an editable letter for these employees to evidence, if questioned when they are on the journey to work, that they cannot work from home.

Remember, the rules around lockdown will change over time. So, before you make any decisions about reopening your business, call 0844 892 3932 and press option 1 for Employment Law advice and option 2 for Health and Safety advice.
